Sublime Nature: Photographs that Awe and Inspire

This first book of CEMEX’s new Nature Series blends a magnificent array of photographs with insightful ideas and thought-provoking quotations to celebrate the aspects of humanity’s relationship with our Earth’s natural bounty.

Nature arouses inspiration and connects profoundly with the human spirit. The stunning natural phenomena have a great impact on us, eliciting reactions of reflection, peace, love, and above all, awe.

CEMEX dedicates the first edition of the new Nature Series, entitled: “Sublime Nature: Photographs That Awe and Inspire” to the celebration of the human connections to our natural world.

Edited by Cristina Mittermeier, photographer and conservationist and also founder of the International League of Conservation Photographers, this book presents a compendium of spectacular views from award-winning photojournalists, interlaced with profound quotations from the world’s leading poets, naturalists, and scientists.

For the publication of this book, we have the privilege of embarking on a publishing partnership with the National Geographic Society, a leader in the sphere of scientific research, exploration, and educational programming. We have joined forces to engage a wider audience in a global dialogue about the future of our planet’s natural wonders.

It is our sincere hope that through this book, and the series that follows, our mutual passion and respect for nature will reach and stir a waiting audience.

About CEMEX Book Series

Since 1993, CEMEX has been honoured to work with many of the world’s most dedicated conservation organizations to create impressive photography books related to the environment. This array of 20 books became the Conservation Book Series.

This year, we are pleased to launch the new Nature Series, promoting and developing a culture of appreciation and respect for nature, not only among our own stakeholders—employees, investors, and business partners—but also within the global community.

We firmly believe that together we can all make a significant contribution to discussions and actions that improve and preserve our environments in every corner of the plane
