CEMEX UK Sustainable Development Report
CEMEX UK has launched its Sustainable Development Report for 2007.
CEMEX recognises that the success of its business does not only depend on financial performance and the quality of products and services, but also on delivering those products and services in a responsible manner. Among the major achievements which are detailed in the report, is the 56% reduction in lost time injuries among employees, a 52% increase in the use of alternative fuels to heat the company's cement kilns and a 36% increase in rail and sea freight of materials. alternative fuels, including secondary liquid fuels,
chipped tyres and household waste, to part-replace fossil
fuels to heat cement kilns are key to improving environmental
