ReadyFloor

ReadyFloor has been developed to provide a highly effective yet easy-to-install flooring system. ReadyFloor is a suspended flooring system composed of prestessed concrete beams with standard blocks providing the infill. This method of construction overcomes many difficulties on site, including costly excavation and consolidation of backfill prior to oversite concrete being placed.

First-floor houses

Suitable for first floor in housing where separating concrete floor reduces noise transmission between first and ground floors together with masonry traditional blockwork separating rooms.

The ReadyFloor 155mm deep beam is used extensively in housing developments. Our 225mm deep beams have been designed for more demanding applications such as flats, offices, schools, light industrial and retail developments. The system can be used just as effectively at first and subsequent floor levels as at ground floor. Ease of installation is coupled with greatly improved sound and thermal insulation properties as well as enhanced fire protection.

Installation is fast and simple, does not require highly specialist skills and can be carried out during adverse weather conditions. When completed and brush grouted, ReadyFloor provides an immediate working platform for progressing construction of the building. Significant cost benefits can also be gained, due to reduced preparation and speed of installation.

A comprehensive and personalised estimating service progresses the initial enquiry through to a written quotation. Upon receipt of an order, working drawings and calculations are provided by our technical department with the help of a computer-aided design system.

ReadyFloor beams are manufactured to order, however in certain circumstances small orders can be supplied from stock. They can be delivered by vehicles equipped with mechanical off-loading facilities. Infill blocks are available from our ReadyBlock range and can be supplied in conjunction with beams, as can air bricks, air vents, ceiling clips and split course blocks.

Upper floors

In many cases the use of ReadyFloor can be continued from the ground floor to the first and any subsequent floors. Where ReadyFloor is used in first floors and above, care must be taken to ensure appropriate fire resistance and sound insulation is achieved. This compliance for sound is clearly defined within Approved Document E (2004 Edition) of the Building Regulations.

A suspended ceiling can be easily installed using galvanised ceiling clips which are fixed into position prior to the floor above being grouted. Battens are fixed into the clips and plasterboard fixed to the battens, resulting in increased fire resistance.

Fire

ReadyFloor is capable of achieving a half-hour fire rating with 155mm beams and one hour with 225mm beams.
