CEMEX Angling, part of the building materials provider CEMEX UK, is opening a new site, Little Moulsham, at Eversley in Hampshire.
Little Moulsham is a former gravel pit which was excavated in the late 1970s and early 1980s for approximately 10 years providing valuable building materials for local construction projects. Over the last few months it has been restored to create a compact and beautiful lake of 15 acres.
The lake is part of the greater restoration developments around Eversley which have resulted in a nature reserve, nine hole golf course, playing fields and water sports facilities. The sports facilities are managed by the Eversley Sports Association. The gravel from this area has gone into the famous Madejski Stadium in Reading and the award winning Elvetham Heath housing development.
Little Moulsham is a rustic site which, since quarrying was finished, has been allowed to develop naturally creating an environment for a wide range of fauna and flora. The lake itself is weedy and has many features to make interesting angling including overhanging trees, shallow plateaus and deep margins.
The lake supports a small population of large Crucian Carp, including the British record of over 4lbs 9oz; Grass Carp, Tench, Silver fish, Pike and Perch offering a wide range for everyone.
The site is being operated on a season permit basis with a limited membership to ensure only a few anglers are fishing at any one time.
CEMEX Angling is committed to managing its waters in a sustainable and responsible way. Every angling site is carefully stocked ensuring good husbandry of the fish and care for the surrounding land.
Permits should be obtained from the CEMEX Angling office on 01932 583630
